Another gorgeous day in Missoula and another win for the Grizzlies. After a slow start the Griz really poured it on and ended up winning 49-17. Better luck next year Glanville. Andrew Selle looked good today so hopefully we'll have a starter now. I would imagine if Roper isn't hurt too badly they will do the rotation thing again though. Mariani was his usual play making self although he was robbed of one TD by a bad call. All in all a great game. Next up is a road game at NAU. Go get em Griz!

The season is finally here, and Griz football is back. Saturday was a beautiful day for football in Missoula. I prefer cooler weather for game day but it's hard to beat these first couple games for tailgating weather. Dawn and I, Michael, Dad, Brady and Kristy went to the game. My mom and Yosh went shopping...their loss. Both teams looked a little rusty the first half, but by the third quarter the Griz were starting to hit their stride. Montana ended up winning 38-0. I think the offense will really get rolling when they pick a quarter back and stick with him. To me Roper looked like he's going to be the guy, but I am glad that they are both getting a chance. Chase Reynolds looked tough as always and quietly gained 100 yards for the game. Running back is really going to be a strong position this year with Reynolds, Fletcher, Moore and the quick freshmen Peter Ngunen (pronounced win i think). Tight end Steven Pfahler had a career game with 2 touchdown receptions.

Defense looked good in pitching the shutout. Lebsock is great at linebacker and had the Grizzlies only sack. We also have some really quick looking defensive ends this year. I think Fetherston is going to have a great year.

UC Davis is up next and should be a better test of the Griz. Game time is 8:00 pm so we'll have a nice evening of Griz football next Saturday. Everyone have a great week and go Griz!

Justin Roper's First Griz touchdown

I thought this video taken by me deserved it's own post. Roper's first TD as a Griz was a 10 yard pass to Pfahler. Hopefully there will be many more to come.
